After a welcoming evening, we kick off from Ndabiri Lodge on the Msuna Island Resort,, having enjoyed a good night’s sleep and a hearty breakfast. As you embark on your river adventure, you’ll be greeted by all the sounds of the river and the unmistakable calling of fish eagles. The indigenous trees along the banks and open bays create a birder’s paradise, offering sightings of a variety of bird species in their natural habitat click here to see resident bird species.. This section of river and its confluences, has an abundance of hippo and crocodile, flanked by Zimbabwe’s Devil’s Gorge and Kavira State Forest Reserve, offering an unique opportunity to appreciate these animals in their natural environment.

Sleeping on the sand banks or on the shore along the river, you cannot get closer to nature. This is true wild camping at its best. Spend the next night at the forest ranger’s camp at the gateway to Lake Kariba and head past Mlibizi for Sebungwe Narrows where we spend two days at Eagles Landing Lodge, enjoying the hospitality and rich fishing opportunities, under guidance of resident operator and guide Willie Viljoen, before returning to Msuna Island Resort for an early departure the next morning.
